This was my second newborn session in the my new little studio and I can remember it so well! I’ll admit, I felt really rusty after not shooting for a few weeks due to COVID and was really nervous about it. But I always get butterflies before a session anyway. But this was different. I was still learning the light, where I wanted my people to be, what I wanted them to do, it was all so new and different than my little room in my house. And y’all it was HOT. My last session in here was March and this was MAY! And I hadn’t figured out the whole air conditioning thing yet. I like my newborn session warm, but we were very, very toasty! Plus, I didn’t know if I wanted to splurge on a mini split unit (FYI: I didin’t even know what that was until I started learning about A/C units for small spaces), or just get a window unit or if my little Dyson fan would do the trick. The space is so small, it seemed kind of silly to get a mini split. And the Dyson wasn’t cutting it for air flow, great for keeping it warm. But for cooling, not so much. Shortly after this session, I ended up getting a window unit, very ugly from the outside, but keeps it cool for when we have the whole family in there. I think this session was totally worth all the sweat drops. Don’t you agree?
